Melanie Crane has always been the perfect daughter, friend, student – she’s been perfect at everything, in fact. But when she lets her insecurities, the ones that she keeps hidden from everyone, get the best of her, she falters in her pursuit of perfection. Melanie crumples under the pressure and buries her pain. Numbed by sadness and guilt, she is determined never to let anyone find out how broken she really is.
Bryan Mahoney may appear to have everything in order. He’s charming, witty and completely swoon-worthy. In short, Bryan has life all figured out, but appearances can be deceiving. When the landscape of Bryan’s family changes in an instant, he’s left to pick up the pieces.
Not all bruises leave a mark. Now, weary and afraid, Melanie and Bryan must find a way to let love heal their broken and jaded hearts.
I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Let Love Heal

4.5 stars
First things first, I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but this one is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE this cover and the story inside is just as beautiful.
This time Melissa Collins takes us on Melanie's journey. The majority of this story takes place during the same time as Let Love Stay, but we find out what happened during Melanie's relentless partying, Bryan's absence, and their time together at school after Maddy stayed behind with Reid.
It is told from Melanie's POV and alternates between past events and current events.
Melanie is a plus size girl with all the insecurities that can go along with that. Melissa really captures that "crazy girl logic" down to a t. We also get to see the fun, playful, dorky, and sometimes serious side of Bryan and what makes him tick. Melissa Collins was able to write so much emotion into her characters that you can't help but love them. One of the things that make a book for me is whether I can make an emotional connection to the people on the page, and I very much felt for these people. Even when things didn't go the way I wanted them to, in the end you know there was no other way. The fun flirtation between Melanie and Bryan was adorable and the sexual tension and chemistry between them was hot, hot, hot!

The supporting characters help round out the story and I can't wait to read their stories.
I personally think you should read Let Love In and Let Love Stay, because they are awesome, but you could probably read this and not be lost as far as Melanie's story goes.
