Perfection. We all strive for it, but what happens when the desire to be perfect consumes you? What happens when the need to bury your mistakes blinds you?
Melanie Crane has always been the perfect daughter, friend, student – she’s been perfect at everything, in fact. But when she lets her insecurities, the ones that she keeps hidden from everyone, get the best of her, she falters in her pursuit of perfection. Melanie crumples under the pressure and buries her pain. Numbed by sadness and guilt, she is determined never to let anyone find out how broken she really is.
Bryan Mahoney may appear to have everything in order. He’s charming, witty and completely swoon-worthy. In short, Bryan has life all figured out, but appearances can be deceiving. When the landscape of Bryan’s family changes in an instant, he’s left to pick up the pieces.
Not all bruises leave a mark. Now, weary and afraid, Melanie and Bryan must find a way to let love heal their broken and jaded hearts.
Link to Prologue:
I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Join the Santinis as they gather together not for the joy of the season, but in crisis. One major event throws everything they hold dear into jeopardy, rallying the Santini brothers to support them mother and thrusting Joey back to the memories of when she and Papa first fell in love.
Joey Antonio doesn’t have time for men. Her focus is on saving money for art school. She definitely doesn’t need some jarhead Romeo bothering her. True, every time they run into each other she finds herself more attracted to him—not to mention the kisses he steals are becoming addictive. Still, no matter how sexy the Marine is, she isn’t a woman who is willing to risk her heart.
Stewart Santini, known to everyone as Papa, is convinced Joey is the woman for him. Sexy, smart and tough—exactly how he likes his women. He finds himself falling even before he knows what hit him…but there is one problem: Joey is willing to share her bed, but not her life.
Papa knows Joey is surprised when he agrees to a casual affair, but he has other plans. This is one Marine who will battle to win the most precious thing in the world to him: Joey Antonio’s heart.

The cookies look yummy and is something that I can definitely make. This giveaway is a wonderful thing you're all doing. Bless all of you that are involved and contributing to this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really in the holiday spirit and I'm not looking forward to Christmas at all this year. I won't have money to buy the food for a Christmas dinner. My husband's job closed down and the unemployment is barely paying the bills. I can't get help with Christmas for my daughter because she's fifteen. I could get all kinds of help if she was little.
My son is 18 and in the Army, he's coming home for Christmas and will be expecting Christmas dinner. I don't have the heart to tell him I won't be making a dinner. I can't ask him for money because I get his bank statements and I know he's broke. He has a car payment, insurance, phone, and he's been having to buy his own food. His meal card was stolen and he said he couldn't turn it in.I'm not sure ifhe will get in ttrouble or if he's afraid that the person who stole it will. He also has to buy certain supplies he has to have in the Army. Of course, I think the Army should pay and supply it all but they don't.
Anyway, Haley's my priority and she wants a $130 Dell laptop from Amazon. I don't think she's asking for much. Now that she knows we're having trouble with paying the bills, she says she doesn't want anything. She has a roof over her head and that's all she needs.
It saddens me and she brings tears to my eyes.I am thankful for what I do have but to have a descent Christmas would take a huge weight off and I wouldn't feel so bad.
Angela
angie1977t@gmail.com
I hate to hear that you are going through such a rough patch. I wish you the best of luck in the contest, but even if you don't win, you still have your family. It is AWESOME that your son is getting to come home for Christmas. Coming from a military family, I know this is never a guarantee. I pray that your situation gets better, and sending you well wishes. ~Wendy
