Madison Laurant has problems. She's getting out of a loveless marriage, returning from rehab, and trying to get her life on track. She never expected her nemeses and law partner would hold the key to that.
Hunter DeLuca admires Madison coming back to work after her stint in rehab. Not everyone would be able to face people after taking leave for her alcohol addiction. He has secretly been attracted to Madison for a while, but she was a married woman and that was a road he wouldn't go down.
Now with Madison back and single, this is his chance.
First let me say that I was pleasantly surprised by this story. I read The Estate and I just didn't like it (there was just too much crammed in a short story). So when I started this, I was expecting the same result.
This story is about twice the size of The Estate, and boy did it help. I felt like there was more time to develop these characters and make me like them. I loved the witty banter between the two and I also felt the chemistry between them.
Once Hunter introduces Madison to the Estate, he allows her repressed sexual history evolve. I liked how while they explored and experimented, the story was still about them. I had an emotional attachment to these people, the story flowed, and the sexual chemistry was Hot, Hot, Hot.
