Nicole Andrews Moore: Shards of My Heart: Indie Author Event with Giveaway

When I found out that I would have Author Nicole Andrews Moore for the Indie Author Event Week I was excited and a little scared.  Nicole has to be one of the hardest working people I have ever met.  Not only is she an accomplished Author, with numerous books under her belt and more to come, but she also has a Blog Tour Company (being a blogger in itself is time consuming, so I can't imagine a tour company), a Publishing Company, but is also the mother of the 4th Smallest surviving Preemie.  This Woman amazes me!  I decided to showcase her upcoming book with the exclusive excerpt I was given and I have put links to some of her other works at the bottom.  This is one Author you should check out!

When I took the vows for better or worse, I meant them. Then I started to wonder if there was a limit as to how much worse I was supposed to endure. Am I supposed to stay if worse means that me and my daughter are in danger? What if the worse was because of a mental illness? When is enough simply too much?
This is a different kind of love story. Read Nina’s journals for a tale of hope, strength of spirit, and unconditional love.
EXCLUSIVE!!!
The drive to Victim’s Assistance took almost thirty minutes. I had to park in the government center parking garage, which mean spending more of my precious money. This had to be done. There was no way around it. I toyed with pulling out the stroller, but decided against it. I knew that while it would help with all the walking, we could be in very close quarters trying to manage very heavy doors. Kylie only weighed 18 lbs. Surely, I could manage that.
So, hauling her, my purse, and her feeding pump bag out of the car, we set out for the building conveniently located next to the courthouse where the office was located. Kylie was silent, staring as we walked at my break neck pace. She was my little sponge, soaking it all in. I wished more than anything that she could have missed out on this particular experience. Last night, while we laid cuddled together on the floor, I kept replaying the events in my mind, willing a different outcome, worrying over how I could have done things differently. Instead, it just seemed like everything was spiraling out of control, right to this moment where I was now involving the courts. Still, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had never seen coming.
How had this man I loved and married become such a stranger, become someone I was wary of, if not a little afraid of? I remembered once when we were visiting friends at an apartment complex not far from our neighborhood how a group of guys started a fight with Shane’s friend. He had tried to be the peacekeeper. When that didn’t work, he stepped up and defended, joined in. He took care of those he cared about, always had their back. And I had his, too. When another one of the guys jumped on him, I had rushed into the fray and shoved the guy off. Both Shane and the guy were more than a little surprised, but I hadn’t given it a thought. We spoke about it after.
Shane: Baby, that was great, but you can never do that again. If I’m in a fight, I can’t be worrying about you, too. Stay out of it. Stay safe. That guy was ready to hit you. Weren’t you worried?
me: Nah. And if he had, I heal fast.
He had hauled me into his arms then, held me close, murmured words of love into my hair.
Shane: I can’t lose you. Nothing can ever happen to you. Understand?
Nodding happily, I had basked in the warmth of his embrace. It was one of my strangely happy memories. Where had that guy gone? I had none of the depth of feelings for this surly man who had taken his place.

Tempest Torn by Nicole Andrews Moore COVER REVEAL

Synopsis

A night of passion.  A raging fire.  A home destroyed.

The sun returned and Joey and Marti felt they had turned a corner in their relationship. Only when they turned that corner, they ran right into the insurance adjustor, Finn. She wasn't just any woman, though. She was the one woman Joey always believed he’d spend the rest of his life with, but they couldn’t make it work. Soon it was obvious that she didn’t just want to adjust the value of the house, but remind Joey of the value of their relationship, and adjust his attitude about the future.

Suddenly, Joey struggles to choose between two women…one who has never and would never hurt him and one that his heart can’t let go despite the hurt.  He’s not the only one with a choice to make.  Never again will Marti allow anyone to make her question her own worth.

A tempest brewed.   A man is torn.  A woman refuses to wait.

Dark Dawn by Melissa Brodsky and Nicole Andrews Moore

Synopsis:

In the beginning, God created heaven and earth.  He created light and dark. Sparkling aquamarine waters, lush green lands and expansive blue skies.  Majestic mountains rose from the grounds, meandering valleys with bubbling rivers forged through the earth.  The sun warmed the soil and trees and grass burst forth, greens contrasting with blues and browns creating an explosion of colors.  Birds playfully dotted the skies and harmoniously chirped in trees.  Fish blasted through currents and leaped through waves of the oceans.  Creatures of every shape rose and inhabited this pristine infant land.  A man formed in God’s image sprang up from under a tree and then a woman from his rib. God chose to call the man Adam and his woman, Eve. Pure, clean air was inhaled, and life began.  And God was satisfied, his creation was perfect and he decided to rest.

While God reclined peacefully, contemplating the beauty, wonder, and goodness of all his creation, darkness prepared to take hold.  Though all was made with the best of intentions, he never considered what evil might be lurking.  It never occurred to him that for every positive action, there could be an equally negative reaction.  He never pondered that while he was upsetting the balance of creating something from nothing that the dark nothings might become something horrible, something savage, something bent on destroying the light.

Chaotic times ensued and God foresaw the darkness running rampant, completely out of control.  He saw the danger that threatened his creation.  He realized his work was yet unfinished.  He had to design something more.  It was time for an angel.  Just as he had done with man and woman not so long before, the angel was created in God’s image.  Unlike man, who had only the basest of abilities, he gave the angel the gift of strength to fight the dark and immortality to ensure his longevity.  There was no telling how long the war between the light and dark would last.  When he was done, he called upon his angel, his helper, Salathiel.

Excerpt

It was late afternoon when they returned and it was Anna’s restlessness that caught Seth’s attention.  The rest of the Guardians went to their rooms to unwind, but Anna was pacing on the roof.  Instead of settling into their office, as he normally did, Seth walked the extra steps to discover what was troubling Anna.  This was completely unlike her.

“Anna,” he said calmly when he reached her.

She whipped around. Her wings were unfurled and twitching nervously.  The rustling of her feathers concerned him.  When he saw the look in her eyes, he was even more disturbed.  “Why?”  She asked as her eyes darted about...up at the sky, then over the edge of the roof, back to Seth and all around.  “Why are we not permitted to form attachments?  Why can we not...be friends with humans?”  The frustration in her voice was evident.  “Why, Seth?  What is so wrong and different about us that we can’t be around His other creations?”
Seth slowly came closer.  He feared she was about to cry.  In all their years of communal living, he had seen her cry...never.  She hadn’t shed a tear over wars.  She had seen countless horrific events pass, yet this was the first time anything had ever seemed to get under her skin and affect her.

“There’s nothing wrong with us, Anna.  You know that.  We simply shouldn’t be distracted.  Attachments create distractions; they make us weak.  We would be inclined to put the good of the few above the needs of the many.  That isn’t our mission.  No entanglements.  No distractions.  These rules were created for a reason.”  He spoke in gentle soothing tones.  It was obvious his words fell on deaf ears.

She shook her head.  “We weren’t supposed to live together.  We were supposed to be scattered about the globe.  Instead, you decided that we should act as one.  If that can change, if the Father can understand the rationale for that change...maybe there could be more...”
