Trevor Mayson had his life planned out - make the family business successful and play the field for a few more years before eventually settling down. Then he sees her. Liz Hayes was beautiful, shy and everything that he could ever want...but she didn't fit into his plans. After Trevor painfully rejects her, Liz finally starts to move on, but Trevor is finding it difficult to truly let her go. It seems the more he tries to stay away, the more intense his feelings for her become. Like a stretched rubber band, he can only take so much before snapping.
Liz Hayes is done waiting for Trevor and isn't interested in getting her heart broken by him again, but Trevor is making it difficult for her to forget him when he shoves his way back into her life.

Can Trevor prove to her that he is worth falling in love with again, and is he ready to change his life plan to let her into his heart?

My eyes narrow. “If you ever even think about spanking me, I'm going to beat the crap out of you, Trevor.”

His eyebrow rises. “You think you can take me?”

“No.” I shrug. “But I will give it my best shot.”

His smile is so devastating that it takes my breath.

“When you’re giving it your best shot, are our clothes on or off?

4 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I really felt the attraction between Liz and Trevor. Trevor's got that whole cave man thing down, not as bad as Asher, but he's got it. The author stepped it up with this one and I couldn't put it down. Liz has had to take care of everyone else in her life, so it's nice to see someone take care of her. For the most part the story flowed well. I think the characters are written well, and while I don’t agree with all the choices, I think I understand most of them.

My one complaint about the story, and what kept it from being 5 stars, was I felt the back story with Liz's brother felt very unresolved. I felt the story was brought in to create drama and bring Liz and Trevor closer together, create tense or dangerous situations, but when it was time to explain what's going on, it was swept under the rug.
Overall though I recommend the book, I couldn't put it down, till the epilogue, then I didn't want to finish it (didn't want it to end.) I do have say I did get a lot more out of the epilogue than I expected.
There is also a sneak peek into the next book, which I'm now anxiously awaiting.

I think if the author continues to improve with each book she writes, she will be a force to be reckoned with.
I want to scream. When we were friends, I told him things that I had never told anyone else. I trusted him.  I had been falling in love with the person that he is, not the guy that every woman in town wants a piece of, but the real him. The one who listened to me when I shared the hurt of my past and the one who helps old ladies carry groceries across the street.  The one who stopped in the middle of the road when he saw a bird with a broken wing, and the one who loves his mom so much, that no matter who's around or where they are, he hugs her and tells her he loves her.  That guy; that was the Trevor that I was falling in love with. Then he showed me a side of him that was ugly and hurtful, a side that I can't forget no matter how much I want to.

“So, what are we doing today? Can we go riding?” I ask excitedly.

“No, someone’s coming over in an hour,” he says, wiping his mouth.

“O…kay,” I say slowly, waiting for him to tell me who is coming over. He doesn’t say anything, just smiles. “So, who is it?” I ask after he still doesn’t say anything.

“You’ll see.” He shrugs.

“So, you’re not going to tell me who it is?”

“Nope,” he says, putting his cup and plate into the sink without rinsing it. He starts to walk away, so I clear my throat to get his attention. When he looks at me, I nod my head in the direction of the sink and he raises his eyebrows. So, I nod my head in the direction of the sink again. “Do you have a tic, baby?” he asks, his mouth twitching.

I narrowed my eyes. “I'm not your maid, Asher.” He straight out smiles, giving me the dimple, then walks to the sink, takes his plate and cup out, still without rinsing them, and places them in the dishwasher. “You have to rinse it before you put it in the dishwasher,” I tell him, feeling and sounding like a total nag.

“It’s a dishwasher,” he says slowly, walking towards me.

“Ye—” Before I can get the words out, his mouth is on mine. The kiss is deep, wet, and so yummy, that when he pulls his mouth away, my hands are wrapped around his neck and my legs are around his hips. I'm in an Asher fog so deep that he could tell me that it’s not a dishwasher, but a microwave, and I would agree with him completely.

My eyes flutter open. He’s looking down at me with a cocky smile and mumbles, “That’s better.” Then, he squeezes my ass in his hands, sets me on the counter and leaves the kitchen, putting on his shirt as he goes.

“Holy crap,” I whisper. Beast looks at me, grunts, then walks to his dog bed and lays down, completely disappointed in my lack of willpower. “It’s not my fault,” I mumble to my dog. He lets out a breath and shuts his eyes, completely dismissing me. “It’s not,” I say, still mumbling. I hop off the counter, take Asher’s dishes from the dishwasher, rinse off the cream cheese so it doesn’t harden onto the plate, rinse out the cup then place them both back in the dishwasher. The whole time, I'm smiling.

Review by ~Wendy

I'm really torn on how I feel about this story. It starts out strong with November being attacked and being saved by a Great Dane (Beast) that is  taller than her when he stands on his hind legs. November fleas the Big Apple for small town in Tennessee. She is going to stay with her father and do the Books for his club. Little does she know its a strip club. Her father only allows her to be there on the off hours. This is how she meets Asher. Asher is the head of security and is at the club checking up on things. Asher is the hot tattooed bad boy, man-whore, who can and does get any woman he wants. It's no secret of his ways, the whole town knows, yet the women come in droves to get his attention.
When November and Asher meet for the first time there are sparks between the two, but Asher is an ass toward November and she wants nothing to do with him.
As fate would have it, their worlds collide and they can't seem to stay away from each other.
Here's my issue with the story. First Asher is a jealous and possessive jerk. I know he is suppose to be this Alpha-Male but he doesn't come off as a nice guy in a tough body. He comes off as that bad boyfriend you want your friend to stay away from. With everything November has been through you would think she would be more guarded, but she lets him do what he wants. All Asher has to do is kiss her and she is all on board with what he says. When their relationship moves to the next level, he asks if she's on birth control and they have unprotected sex. November knows he has been with half the women in town, yet she sees no problem having sex with him with out a condom. Birth control prevents pregnancy, not STDs.
Second issue, there seems to be a lot of repetitive comments or scenes.
Third issue is lack of character development. Like November and Liz's friendship, they meet and next thing you know they are BFF's. I would really like to have seen their relationship form.
So here's where my dilemma is. I liked the ending, no cliffhanger, which is a rarity these days. I liked the secondary characters. I loved the dog. Most of the sex was hot, I just really wish Asher was such a caveman jerk.
At the end if the book, there is a look into the next book and I am left wanting to read it.
In the end I am giving it 3 stars. I think the story had potential and I have hope that the writer will develop her writing with the next book. Like I said, I am left wanting to read the next story.
